From ABCNews (Australia):

The Tasmanian renewable energy company Roaring 40s believes Australia's signing up to the Kyoto protocol on climate change will assist its business opportunities.

Company chief, Matthew Groom, has returned home from the UN climate change conference in Bali where he was part of the clean energy delegation.

The previous Federal Government refused to increase the mandatory renewable energy target which saw companies like Roaring Forties lose overseas contracts and pull back from investing locally.

Mr Groom has told ABC Local Radio signing up to Kyoto will benefit local renewable energy companies.

"And we're very excited about the potential opportunities that will present for us here in Australia," he said.

"I think internationally it's a little bit uncertain as to how things are going to unfold but we have a high level of confidence that the carbon markets are here to stay and that there will be significant opportunities for us in those markets going forward.">>>MORE
